Bengali BBQ Fish Skewers

 

SERVES: 4

INGREDIENTS: 

800g Halibut Fillet, in bite size chunks
1 Apple, in bite size chunks
2 Peppers in bite size chunks
1 tsp Olive Oil

For Marinade

2 tsp Black Mustard Seeds
2 tsp Yellow Mustard Seeds
2 tbsp Onion, very finely chopped
2 Chillies, finely chopped
½ tsp Turmeric
2 tsp Salt
2 Lemons, juice only
¼ tsp Chilli Powder
1 tbsp Mustard Oil

METHOD:

1. In a food processor combine the mustard seeds, onion, chillies, turmeric, chilli powder, turmeric, salt, lemon juice, mustard oil & 1-2 tbsp of water to make a paste.

2. Add the fish & mustard-curry paste to a bowl & coat the fish evenly in the spicy paste. Let stand for 10 minutes.

3. Thread the fish, apple & peppers alternatively on 8 metal skewers. Brush the grill rack with oil & either cook the skewers on a bbq or under a hot grill. Takes about 8 minutes, turning occasionally. Serve 2 per person.
